Installing a Brawl Stars mod APK on Android takes about three minutes and doesn’t need root access — Android just needs your permission to install an app that didn’t come from the Play Store. Below is the exact sequence of taps, in order, with a screenshot for each one, so you know precisely where to tap even if you’ve never sideloaded an APK before. The steps are the same for every Android mod on this site, so this guide works whichever one you’re downloading, not just a single build.

How to Install the Mod APK on Android, Step by Step

Six steps, start to finish. Each one is a single tap or toggle — follow them in order and don’t skip the Settings step first, or the download won’t install.

1. Allow Installs From Your Browser

Android blocks app installs from outside the Play Store by default, so the first tap happens in Settings, not the browser. Go to Settings → Apps → Special access → Install unknown apps, tap the browser you’ll use to download the file (usually Chrome), and turn on Allow from this source.

2. Download the Mod APK

Open the mod’s page and tap its Android download button — for example, Null’s Brawl, the most-downloaded Android mod on this site. Most mod files run 1–1.5 GB, so downloading over Wi-Fi is faster and skips your mobile data plan.

3. Open the Downloaded File

Once the download finishes, pull down the notification shade and tap the completed download, or open your Files app and look in the Downloads folder for the .apk file.

4. Confirm the Play Protect Warning

This is a separate check from the browser permission in step 1 — Google Play Protect scans every APK at install time regardless of that setting, and shows its own warning that the app isn’t verified. Tap More details, then Install anyway to continue. If you don’t see an Install anyway option at all, Play Protect has blocked the file outright rather than just warning about it — the note after these steps covers how to get past that.

5. Tap Install

Review the permissions Android lists, then tap Install. The install itself usually finishes in under a minute, even for a file this size.

6. Open the App

When the installer finishes, tap Open — or find the new icon on your home screen — and you’re in.

Why Android Shows a Play Protect Warning

That warning isn’t a sign something’s wrong — it’s Android’s default gatekeeping for any APK that didn’t come from the Play Store, and every sideloaded app triggers it, not just mods. Tapping through it doesn’t disable Play Protect for future installs or turn off any other security feature on your phone.

If Play Protect Blocks the Install Completely

Play Protect has gotten stricter recently, and on some devices it blocks certain APKs outright — no Install anyway button, no way through the warning screen. If that happens, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon → Play Protect → the gear icon, and turn off (or pause) app scanning. Then try the install again. It’s worth turning Play Protect back on once you’re done — it’s your phone’s main defense against genuinely malicious apps, not just a gate for sideloaded ones.

“Just tap through it” isn’t a satisfying answer on its own, so here’s the actual mechanism behind the “safe to install” claim: every APK on this site is scanned with ClamAV before it’s published, and each mod’s download page shows the real result of that scan — the engine version, the signature database date, and the file’s SHA-256 hash, not just a green checkmark. Worth being upfront about the limits too: ClamAV is one scanning engine, not the 70-engine consensus you’d get from a service like VirusTotal, so treat the badge as “checked against known malware signatures,” not an absolute guarantee. It’s still a real, verifiable check run against the exact file you’re about to download, not marketing copy.

This same sequence installs any Android mod on this site — the only thing that changes from one download to the next is the file you pick in step 2.
