Retro Brawl Support Ends September 30, Magic Brawl Safe

The team behind Magic Brawl and Retro Brawl announced the Retro Brawl shutdown on September 5, 2026. Brawlers Cloud isn’t affiliated with either project — this is a report on their announcement, not our own statement.

Why Retro Brawl Is Shutting Down

The developers said they no longer have the resources or a realistic path to keep developing Retro Brawl further. Their announcement pointed to the project’s underlying business model as the core problem. Without a way to make that model sustainable, they said, continuing to support it would only create uncertainty for players and keep costing the team money and reputation.

Retro Brawl ran for five years as a completely free private server. It kept stable uptime, with its full content library available to every player the whole time. The team thanked everyone who stuck with the project.

When Retro Brawl Shuts Down

The team said Retro Brawl’s infrastructure goes offline completely on September 30, 2026. They didn’t announce a way to transfer progress or carry it over to another project.

Magic Brawl Isn’t Affected

The same team runs Magic Brawl, and they were explicit that it isn’t going anywhere. Development continues at the same pace, and they said the project faces no similar issues.

Retro Brawl is still live for now — you can find it on our Retro Brawl mod page while it lasts. If you’d rather stick with a private server from the same developers going forward, Magic Brawl is unaffected by this change.
